Presented the Barcolana 51 poster, the signature is of the illustrator who bewitched America
The poster for the fifty-first edition of the Barcolana is a postcard of the Gulf of Trieste invaded by the sails of the famous regatta with a stylized daisy in the foreground and the Miramare castle and the Alps as a backdrop. The new graphic design of one of the emblems of the regatta that last year was entrusted to the internationally renowned artist Marina Abramovic, is the work of the young illustrator Olimpia Zagnoli, Milanese by adoption but Emilian by birth.
Zagnoli has important jobs behind her as a global illustrator. His works have in fact been published by giants like the New York Times, The New Yorker, Republic and TIME, food companies of the caliber of Barilla and Perugina, and one of the milestones of fashion like Prada, just to mention some of the commitments professional.
Barcolana has published a post where he explains the reasons for choosing the poster: “It is an invitation to come to Trieste to be protagonists, at sea and on land and it is an invitation to protect the beauty of our planet” as the company note. Mitja Gialuz, president of SVBG in Milan for the presentation of the regatta at the Milan Illycaffè, commented in this way, always in a post he published on his profile: “Mare, sails, Miramare Castle and a flower: our planet . Let’s not forget to preserve it and protect it. “
