Millevele 2019 show in the waters of Genoa during the Boat Show
A beautiful sunny day and the north was the setting for the 32nd edition of Millevele, the traditional regatta, organized by the Yacht Club under the patronage of Italian Liguria Region and the Municipality of Genoa, which takes place during the Boat Show. Nearly 190 boats that competed Saturday morning in the water in front of the Lido of Albaro, Foce and Boccadasse, coloring the Genoese sea. The challenge consisted of two different paths, depending on the length of the hulls.
The first of the big to cross the finishing line was Kauris II, who completed the course in 35 minutes with its cockpit ‘star’ and a helmsman as Torben Grael. Sfumato duel with ITA102 Adriano Calvini, which on this occasion was carrying the mayor of Genoa Marco Bucci. It ‘was just the first city to officially kick off the event, aimed at promoting the image of Genoa thanks to the synergy with Ucina and the boat shows, on the pier of the marina Duca degli Abruzzi.
In the challenge “institutional”, the fifth position for the Swan 65 Mascalzone Latino of Vincenzo Onorato XXIV which housed Giovanni Toti, governor of Liguria. The regatta also attended by former national coach Marcello Lippi with the crew of the ‘Unbeatable’, the boys of the homonymous non-profit organization that presides, for the occasion aboard the schooner Spirit of Chemainus.
The Millevele, which was held for the first time on 24 October 1987, this year has also been chosen by three major hospitals in Genoa for the first edition of Hospitality Sail Race Genoa, which was won by the Ospedale Galliera while the challenge of Utilities Iren has rewarded the efforts of Obsession Rossello De Martini, the first grouping Verde 2.
