Five good reasons to visit the Boat Show Geneva

Sailing enthusiasts, lovers of Lake Geneva and those who want to discover the activities that take place on or in the water are found from this Friday until Sunday at the seventh Boat Show at Palexpo Geneva. Here are five reasons to go there.

1. Embark!

Fifteen boats will be unveiled in preview at the Geneva Boat Show including a prototype solar boat of EPFL students and HEIG-VD. The flying catamaran TF35, successor to the D35 will be exposed. Nautical chips will allow visitors to purchase items related to the ship, sailing, sea and fishing. Children can learn to sail on a pool of 150 m2. And if you own a boat or browser and you want to mount a crew, it’s possible to show. Workshops matte setting, spinnaker repair, introductions to windsurfing and demonstrations of “foiling prone” will be offered.

2. Dive!

A panoramic view tank will be reserved for dives. The film about the freediver Julie Gautier that combines snorkeling and dancing will be screened. It won the Audience Award at the “Waterproof Festival”. An aquatic dance show will be given in the panoramic tub.

3. Find out!

Astronaut Claude Nicollier will discuss his expeditions in the polar regions and in the Indonesian archipelago. He will also discuss his two expeditions to come to Patagonia and Antarctica. Through a selection of excerpts from historical fiction films, Didier Zuchuat, film specialist and librarian at Lake Geneva Museum, will share his passion for the lake. Meet the Genevan Jacques Valente, who will return to his experience in the Route du Rhum. An exhibition of unpublished photos from the Belle Epoque boats will be presented to the public.

4. Have a party!

The now legendary “Night” is held Friday evening from 21 pm! The British Virgin Islands are guests of the show. Friday evening, under their aegis, promises a flurry of surprises and provides a tropical atmosphere. Cocktail “Painkiller” offered to the first arrivals.

5. Compete!

Two races in “Stand-up Paddle” and “Windsurfing foil” will take place on the lake, Sunday. And a scavenger hunt will be organized for children on Friday and Saturday at the Show at Palexpo.
