Winter in Rome, weekend sailing on the Roman coast
08/11/2019 – They resume this weekend sports Sailing Club Fiumicino in the Winter Championship of Rome, at the weekend alternate, will continue until mid-March.
After the first day canceled due to bad weather, Sunday, November 10 will go down in the water for the first 2019-2020 edition trial that put to work more than 80 boats, about 800 people, in what continues to be the sailing winter league with largest number of participants ever played under the auspices of the Italian Sailing Federation.
Saturday, at 17:00, the crews and all sailing enthusiasts are invited to attend the first meeting free study on “IRC-ORC measurement systems and innovations in the world of offshore sailing” identified by the International Federation of sailing to ‘last Annual General Meeting that ended a few days ago in Bermuda. The speaker will be Richard Provini, technical contact Vela Union of Italian hill. This will be followed for technical discussions on “technique and race strategy” and “Navigation and maneuvers with the spinnaker.”
On Sunday morning, as planned, it is instead expected the sailing regatta on the race course located along the coast of Ostia and Fiumicino. Three groupings provided: “Race”, “Cruise” and “White sails.”
More than thirty boats are included in the “race” group, one suited to the more experienced sailors, who sees among Mart d’Est favorites of Edward Hare and Geex Angelo Lobinu. It will give you a hard time No Fix Carlo Colabucci, already graduated Owner CVF year 2019 and winner of the Trofeo Città di Fiumicino in the last edition. In Group Cruise she will defend the podium Lysithea Roberto Bocci and Ummagumma Antonio Stellato, but among the thirty other competitors in the race will certainly find other boats that will point the top spot. There will be water, also Nicola Borsò, stainless Owner with the glorious NAT boat a One Tonner that has marked the history of the Italian offshore sailing.
Twenty, however, the new entry listed in the category “white sails” with boaters vessel owners wishing to try the experience of the race, with a first and simple approach to sailing sports. And ‘This is the category that is well suited to those who have attended recently in a sailing school and want to improve their ability to maneuver and run.
As usual, finished the race, the sailing club Fiumicino will host at its headquarters a crew party for all participants: a time to get together and review the race pictures just held through which the Sailing Club Fiumicino also wants to give a message strong at all sailors and sea lovers: we eliminate the disposable and reusable products we use biodegradable or plastic. During the #Plasticfree crew party, in fact, they are compostable tableware use or reusable. An important signal that during the first party was particularly appreciated by the participants.
