Vittorino da Feltre: rowing gold for Federico Fontana and Luca Preti
Transfer the Turin waters of the Po, in recent days, for water sportsmen of Vittorino da Feltre. Also this year took part in the “On Winter on the Po”, one of the most important and prestigious international competitions of the winter cross-country canoeing, now in its 37th edition.
As usual, the race, which for a couple of years takes place over a distance of five meters, was divided into two days of competition. On Saturday the National competition for the boats of 7.20, single, double and two without. While the Sunday it held the International open competition to the crews of the quad and eight.
In the first day of competition, the Vittorino da Feltre deployed in water three crews of two who conquered excellent results. In the Senior category, in fact, Federico Fontana and Luca Preti have played an exemplary race. The two bearers have forced all other crews, from the very outset, to a continuous tracking that has persisted until the finish line, cut victoriously precisely by the two athletes who have Vittorino relegated to second place the crew of Cus Ferrara. In the Junior category, however, the podium only grazed by the now-proven crew consists of white and Maria Sole Perugino and Chiara Exposed. In the men, however, always in the Junior category, eighth place for Elijah and Joseph Angelelli Brandazza.
Vittorino da feltre in water
The rowers took to the water in red and white on Sunday international regatta competed against opponents of great value. The competition have taken part national teams (Germany, Austria and Romania) and regional (Lombardy, Piedmont, Tuscany, Liguria and Sicily). Despite the high technical and competitive level, the red and white athletes distinguished themselves gaining excellent results. Sixth place finish for eight female Junior in mixed crew (17-18 years) consisting among other from MariaSole Perugino, Chiara Esposti and biancorosso Nicola Fadda at the helm. The race was won by the selection of the Italian national team, followed by Romania and by the crew of the Tuscan Committee.
Also on the eight, but in the Boys category (15-16 years), fifth place Gamaleri, Mazzocchi, War and for newcomers Angelelli and Ferrari. Rounding out the crew, at the helm, the young red and white Gamaleri Asia, Agnes Dassani, Chiara Petruzzellis (Rowing Ravenna) and Aurora Vassalli (Cus Ferrara). Due to a technical failure has not however been able to cut the finish line with the eight boys with red and white 4, Matthew Cioncolini, Nicola Fadda and debutant Gabriel aspects and Gian Maria Dordoni. Great sixth place for the young Nicola Balduzzi, and category C students (13 years) competed in mixed crew with Canottieri Gavirate; Eleventh place finally to Christian Orlandi in a mixed crew with Cus Ferrara.
