Scuola di Mare Beppe Croce: Summer Courses start on June 15
This year the Italian Yacht Club and Sea School ‘Beppe Croce’ are ready to go with the traditional summer courses dedicated to all children and young people who want to approach the world of the sea and for sailing.
The weekly courses will be held from June 15 to September 11 (Monday to Friday, from 8:30 to 17:00) and then with a coverage even in August!
During the week the children will have the opportunity to discover how to work our Sea School, taking care of the equipment, studying the sail, the weather and the sea. They will acquire the necessary experience to surf the internet freely, constantly followed by qualified instructors and in total safety, in compliance with the latest and breaking provisions on Covid-19.
The protocol of measures developed in recent weeks by the Yacht Club, in line with the suggestions made by the Italian Sailing Federation, is a further guarantee for a sport like sailing already topping the charts for the lower risk of contagion (Dossier Cones 2020) .
It will be a different summer, more aware and responsive to security; This is why knowing how to be able to entrust their children to a serious and structured society becomes essential. The structures, spaces and YCI staff ensure compliance and overcoming the safety regulations regarding COVID-19, to carry out all the activities of approach to the sport of sailing and wind-surfing boards. In the sea the kids and the kids can enjoy themselves, freely, learning about the sea and the wind.
The formation is in the DNA of YCI
One of the great assets of the sports clubs are young people, even more for a sailing club with such an important story. They are the young precisely that keep it alive and vital. It is in fact in 1952, which at the YCI is instituted of Students Membership class to facilitate entry to the Club of minor shareholders of twenty-one years, a success story and so many generations that have passed through the training activities of the Club.
Going sailing kids acquire right away (in addition to the basic rudiments of sailing, wind and race strategy) the core values of each sport: the commitment, the dedication, the interpretation of the time, the strategy and tactics.
The first sailing of the gym is the Optimist, a small ‘bathtub’ designed in 1947 and which is still unsurpassed as a school boat for the approach to sailing. The boys then continue on larger boats, fast and acrobatic where they can improve and refine their qualities. Many kids have been competing for the Club and have become part of a large family with pride to bring the red white banner of the Club Italy’s oldest. The competitive YCI, to date, has about fifty agonists in various classes: Optimist, 420, 470, Laser, 49er and Windsurfing.
